Before prompting the AI Assistant, it’s helpful to understand the core estimate components and how they’re structured.
- Groups are used to create hierarchy in an estimate. They’re commonly used for trades, tasks, or rooms. Often these can be formatted as CSI MasterFormat divisions.
- Line items can stand alone or live within a group. Each line item represents a specific scope of work. Often these can be broken out by labor and materials.
- Line item prices roll up to a group-level total, helping organize and summarize costs.
