Businesses on Plus or Scale can send estimates to clients over SMS in addition to email. To enable this feature, check the box "Send SMS" on the second page of the estimating or change order form and obtain consent from your client.
To send SMS alerts via Beam you need to obtain and record consent from your client.
Before obtaining consent you need to communicate the following information to the client:
- Beam will send the text message on your behalf to alert them on important project updates
- Frequency of messages will vary
- Message and data rates may apply
- They can text STOP to quit and HELP for assistance
- They can find our privacy policy + terms and conditions on our website
After you have communicated the above and received consent, please store a record of the time the call took place, and who obtained the consent. We may require this information later.
The following is a sample script showing how you can ask the client for consent and provide the information:
“We use Beam, which can send important project alerts via text message. By opting in, you would consent to receive text messages from Beam. Message frequency may vary, and message and data rates may apply. You can opt out at any time by replying STOP, or get help by replying HELP. You can review Beam’s Privacy Policy and Terms on their website. Would you like to opt in?”
