# How do I link a bank account?

## Connect your bank using Stripe and Plaid to receive payments and enable ACH transfers in Beam.

To link a bank account you'll need to go to settings, validate business information with Stripe, then connect your bank account via Plaid.

1. Go to **Settings ⚙️**
2. Click the **Bank Accounts** tab
3. Click **Validate Business Information** 
     - This form is sent directly to [**Stripe**](https://stripe.com/), Beam’s payment processor.
     - Stripe requires this information to verify that you are the legal owner (or authorized representative) of the business.
     - This is part of required identity verification (KYC – Know Your Customer) for payment processing.
4. Once submitted, verification typically takes 30–60 seconds.

You'll then enter your code for verification. 
     - Beam uses [**Plaid**](https://plaid.com/) to securely connect most banks.
     - Some banks may require micro-deposit verification instead of instant linking.

Your bank account must be successfully linked in order to:

- Pay bills via ACH
- Use Beam’s payment features
- Transfer funds in and out of the        Beam Balance

Once a bank account is linked, you can click the three dots next at the top right corner of the record to edit the account nickname.
