# How do I invoice for a change order in Beam?

## Approve a change order and include it as a line item or milestone on your invoice.

These steps apply to **fixed price progress** or **milestone invoices**.

First, the change order must be approved by opening it, clicking `More`, and selecting `Approve change order`.

Once approved, the change order will appear at the bottom of the **Prime Contract**. In the invoice form, you’ll see the change order as a milestone or line item that can be invoiced.

You can customize how a change order appears on a fixed price invoice.

In the change order form, below the line items section, you can edit the change order title or add multiple line items.
