# How do I handle refunds or credits on Beam?

## Handle refunds by returning funds externally or issuing a negative change order to credit the project balance.

Beam does not currently process refunds within the platform.

If there is **no remaining balance** on the project, return funds to the client outside of Beam.

If there **is remaining balance** on the project, create a **negative change order**.

Once created, you can select the negative change order record for your next invoice to credit the customer.
